How It Works
A thin layer of titanium dioxide is applied to the exterior surface of our High-Performance Low-E4 glass during manufacturing. This outside-facing layer is activated by ultraviolet (UV) rays from sunlight, a process called photocatalytic action. What it does is it loosens particles above the titanium dioxide layer: dirt, stains amd even hard-to-remove water spots. Everything eventually just falls off.
If the window is wet from rainwater or from when you’re washing your windows, it simply dries clean under direct sunlight. This same layer also helps filter UV rays and protect indoor fabrics and furniture.
Our High-Performance Low-E4 glass packages boast a multitude of features that contribute to what makes our windows some of the most energy-efficient on the market. The standard double-pane assembly is separated by insulated spacers. When set into our exclusive Fibrex® material frames, it allows minimal thermal transfer, which helps keep indoor temperatures comfortable and consistent, reducing heating and cooling requirements. The space between the two glass panes can be optionally filled by a custom argon gas blend. As an inert gas, argon can enhance window glass insulation, which can further improve energy efficiency.
Our operable window styles are likewise easy to clean, with sashes that can be removed (sliding windows), tilted (double hung windows) or reached around (casement windows). The Fibrex material frames feature have the same low-maintenance properties of vinyl frames.
