We at Renewal by Andersen® are committed to providing only the highest quality energy-efficient windows and doors. In line with this commitment, we use only the best available materials available for our products, including our patented Fibrex® material. But what exactly is Fibrex?
In today’s post, we answer four of the most frequently asked questions about this revolutionary material.
Question #1: What Is Fibrex®?
Fibrex is a polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and wood composite material developed by Renewal by Andersen and is used in the majority of our windows. By weight, it is composed of 40% recycled Ponderosa pine wood fibers and 60% PVC. Fibrex combines the durability of wood with vinyl’s low maintenance characteristics, which is why it is a favorite among homeowners and window installation companies alike.
Question #2: Does Fibrex Come With a Warranty?
At Renewal by Andersen, we believe that a great window is a combination of excellent materials and expert installation. All our Fibrex products are backed by the famous Andersen 20/10/2 warranty: 20-year limited warranty for Fibrex and glass, 10-year limited warranty for the frame and 2-year limited warranty on installation.
Question #3: Is Fibrex Available for All Windows?
As mentioned above, Fibrex is highly versatile and is used in almost all of our windows – from traditional casement windows to custom windows with complex curves. Andersen® developed Fibrex specifically so it can be extruded, which allows it to be shaped in all kinds of ways.
